What Birthday Song with Name collects when you type a name, which providers handle it, how long it is kept, and how to get a song removed.

The short version

This is a free tool that turns a name into a birthday song. There are no accounts, no payments, and no newsletter. The only thing you give us is a name, and the only thing we keep is the name itself, so the song can be recorded and served again.

What we collect

The name you type. This is the one piece of content the tool needs. If a song for that name already exists, we serve it and add one to its play count. If it does not, the name joins a recording queue together with a count of how often it has been asked for, so we know which names to record next.

Your IP address, briefly. When a name is not in the library yet, your IP address is held in server memory for a few seconds to stop a single source from flooding the queue. It is not written to our database.

Nothing else. We do not ask for an email address, we do not create an account for you, and we never see payment details, because nothing here is for sale.

How the songs are made

Songs are not generated while you wait. We record queued names in batches with AI singing-voice software, then upload the finished audio so it is ready the next time anyone asks for that name. The name is the only input that software receives.

Why a name is not usually personal data

A first name on its own — Emma, Joe, Siobhán — does not identify anyone in particular. We do not link the names you type to you, to each other, or to any profile. If you type a full name, be aware it is stored in the queue and, once recorded, alongside the audio produced from it.

Third parties involved

  • Vercel hosts the website. Like any web host, it keeps standard request logs, which include IP addresses, for a limited period.
  • Supabase hosts the database that holds the song library and the recording queue.
  • Cloudflare R2 stores the audio files and delivers them to your browser.

They process this data on our behalf so the tool can work. We do not sell data to anyone, and there is no advertising network on this site.

How long things are kept

Recorded songs are kept indefinitely, because reuse is exactly what makes the tool free — a song made once is served to everyone who asks for that name afterwards. Queued names stay until they are recorded or removed. The in-memory IP check lasts a few seconds.

Getting something removed

If a song or a queued name should be deleted, email support@birthdaysonggen.com and say which name. We will remove the audio and the record of it. We cannot tell which request was originally yours, since we do not track that.

Cookies

This site sets no tracking or advertising cookies. If you arrive through a link tagged with a utm_source campaign label, a first-party cookie keeps that label for 30 days. It identifies the link, not you, and is not shared with anyone. Your browser may also store a theme preference locally so the site remembers light or dark mode. That never leaves your device.

Children

The tool is not directed at children, and it collects nothing that would identify one.
